Pharmfest X Public Health 2026
First and foremost, ProteinLab Malaysia would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for inviting us to be part of PharmFest X Public Health 2026 on the 20th of June 2026. It was truly an honour to participate in such a meaningful event that brought together healthcare professionals, students, and industry leaders to promote health awareness, nutrition, and overall wellness.

We would also like to congratulate the organizing committee for putting together such a well-organized and engaging event. The passion and dedication shown by the students and faculty members made PharmFest X Public Health 2026 an incredible platform for learning, sharing knowledge, and inspiring healthier lifestyles among the younger generation.
One of the highlights of the event was the forum session featuring Dr. Farah Farhana (Medical Doctor & Health and Wellness Advisor), Dr. Norman Mohd Narawi (General Practitioner specializing in Nutritional Medicine), and Mr. Kevinn Khoo Teng Shang, Founder of ProteinLab Malaysia. The session provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship, nutrition, supplementation, and making informed health choices.
During the forum, Mr. Kevinn Khoo shared his entrepreneurial journey, explaining how his passion for fitness and sports nutrition inspired him to start ProteinLab Malaysia. After studying Technopreneurship at UCSI University, he began the business with an initial capital of just RM5,000, transforming a personal hobby into one of Malaysia's trusted sports nutrition retailers. His story encouraged many students to pursue their passions and demonstrated that dedication, continuous learning, and perseverance can turn small beginnings into meaningful achievements.
The discussion also covered several important nutrition topics that are highly relevant to today's consumers. Participants learned about the benefits of creatine supplementation for improving exercise performance and supporting strength training, while also understanding that supplements should always complement a balanced lifestyle.
Another topic that generated great interest was the role of multivitamins. The panel explained that for individuals who consistently consume a well-balanced and nutritious diet, multivitamins may not always be necessary. Instead, maintaining healthy eating habits should remain the primary focus.

The audience also had the opportunity to learn about different types of protein supplements. Whey protein was introduced as the most popular choice due to its high quality, complete amino acid profile, and effectiveness in supporting muscle recovery and growth. The discussion also addressed a common question regarding weight gain, where the panel explained that while protein shakes are excellent for increasing daily protein intake, individuals looking to gain weight may benefit more from a quality mass gainer, as it provides both higher calories and protein to better support a calorie surplus.
One of the key messages shared throughout the forum was the importance of understanding nutrition as a whole instead of focusing on only one nutrient. Modern food marketing often emphasizes labels such as "0% fat" or "0% sugar," which can sometimes create the impression that a product is automatically healthy despite containing other less desirable ingredients. By improving nutritional knowledge, individuals are better equipped to make informed decisions that align with their personal health and fitness goals.
ProteinLab Malaysia is honoured to have had the opportunity to contribute to this educational forum and share practical knowledge with the students of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). We sincerely appreciate the warm hospitality shown by the university, the organizing committee, and everyone who attended the event. It was inspiring to witness the enthusiasm shown by the students as they actively participated in discussions and asked thoughtful questions throughout the session.

Once again, we extend our sincere thanks to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for the invitation and trust placed in ProteinLab Malaysia. We look forward to supporting more educational initiatives and continuing our mission of promoting evidence-based sports nutrition and healthier lifestyles within the community.
