Synthetic VS Non-Synthetic Multivitamins Pro & Con

Synthetic VS Non-Synthetic Multivitamins Pro & Con

I am often asked which multivitamin is better. I am here to inform you that there is no such thing as better vitamins. There is only difference between Synthetic and Non-Synthetic version of vitamins.
If you are comparing all Synthetic vitamins than more or less they would be the same.
The same goes for if you are comparing between non-synthetic vitamins version of vitamins.
Both Synthetic and Non-Synthetic Vitamins have their Advantage and Disadvantage. Proteinlab will look into the Pro and Con of Synthetic Multivitamins and Non-Synthetic Multivitamins before we dive into the type of the Multivitamin which is available in Malaysia market.

Organic No Yes

So a lot of pharmacists will say: Synthetic vitamins are also vitamins. So it is the same and cheaper. The answer to this would be Yes and NO.

So below we will use the most common vitamin which is Vitamin C to understand the issue better. Yes, if you are buying Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) you indeed do still get Vitamin C which will still help you cure any deficiency of Vitamin C disease.

However, some direct selling personal, multi-level marketing company or organic company will say that Synthetic Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is harmful to your body and it is bad. The answer to that is NO! Synthetic Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is not immediately harmful to the body just because it is synthetically made.

If we don't get ascorbic acid from food every day, after a while, we feel bad - like the seafarers, as a human cannot make Vitamin C themselves, but they need them to survive. After understanding this, you now will say wow! then it is extremely important for us and we will need more of it! However, the synthesis of vitamin C is different and depends on whether it takes place in the laboratory or in plants. The synthesis process in nature is carried out by enzymes, while the synthesis in the industry is solved differently. One of the reaction steps is carried out by yeast fermentation, which is as natural a reaction by enzymes as the reaction in plants. BUT the molecule that is created is always the molecule: ascorbic acid

Vitamin C from natural sources is not the only molecule that is ingested when eating fresh fruit and other foods. It is not pure. In contrast to vitamin C produced in most nutritional supplements.

There are many bioflavonoids or polyphenols in acerolas or citrus fruits that have an antioxidant effect. These are also good for us. There is a balanced interplay of different plant trace element components of the basic and secondary plant substances of the respective plants.

Both are healthy because both are central to the molecule that protects our body throughout physical exertion, strengthens the immune system and thus keeps us vital. It is the same vitamin C transporter key if the specific, biochemical reactions are the key. However, over the long run, you need to know that Synthetic Vitamin C is not a complete Vitamin C and it is only a part of Vitamin C as a whole complex Vitamin C will contain not only ascorbic acid but also other compounds such as Ascorbigen, Bioflavonoid Complex, Tyrosinase, P-Factors (Rutin), K- Factors and J-Factors. Know that Synthetic Vitamin C is indeed helpful to get rid of deficiency, but a large dose of Synthetic Vitamin C may cause other trace minerals to be lacking as they need to pull those out in order for your body to be able to utilize Synthetic Vitamin C.

Now we know what the different between Synthetic Vitamins and Non-Synthetic Vitamins. Below are 2 choice of vitamins which is authorized by the European Food Safety Authority and their differences.

Increased Nutrient Uptake
AstraGin® supports increased absorption of a wide range of nutrients from amino acids, to omega-3s, to creatine, to even CBD.

Gut Barrier Integrity
Promotes healthy gut lining and tight junction functioning, ultimately leading to associated effects like reduced inflammation in the intestinal lining.

Whether it’s our food or dietary supplements, how do we know we’re absorbing and getting the most out of what we’re consuming?

Even more, gut health can be affected by a number of factors. High-stress levels, lack of exercise, poor sleep habits, poor diet, antibiotics, and artificial sweeteners can all contribute to an imbalance in healthy gut microbiota.

A Foundation for Healthy Gut Functions
The human gut has a huge impact on the entire health of our body and interestingly enough, our mind.* Overall, a healthy gut leads to better absorption of your foods, a strong immune system, healthier weight levels, and may also help improve sleep and mood.*

Nutrients in your foods, once eaten go through your stomach and into your intestinal tract. There we absorb all the beneficial nutrients — usually through a passive mechanism. But many nutrients such as amino acids, require active transporters inside our intestines to transport them from the gut and into our bloodstream.

These active transporters are activated by mRNA, an enzyme. A lot of gut health related issues such as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) are often related to an improper transport of nutrients and/or increased inflammation in the gut.

The Science Behind AstraGin®:
Associated Effects of AstraGin® Based on Research Findings

AstraGin® has shown in 16 in-vitro and 8 in-vivo studies that are published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Molecular Nutrition & Food Research and Scientific Reports to:

 Conclusion

A synthetic multivitamin is always easier to obtain at a fraction of the price with complete vitamins and minerals profile. However, I would advise if you are going for synthetic multivitamins in the long run, always eat a lot of other fruits and vegetable along with it as well. Natural vitamins are a better choice to go to if you have the budget and able to get your hand on one. Another way like how I (Kevinn Khoo) would love to do is get both types and swap 1 day for synthetic and 1 day for naturals as I hate to eat vegetables. This would also keep my budget from exploding.
